About this visa
Who needs it: Sri Lankan passport holders need a visit visa before flying to the UAE for tourism or to see family; UAE residents sponsoring a Sri Lankan visitor also start here.
How long it takes: Most visit visas get a decision within 2 to 4 working days of us submitting your documents.
What can delay it: A passport with damaged pages, a sponsor letter that doesn't match the applicant's name, or travel dates that change after we apply.

Can my parents extend their visit visa once they are in the UAE?
Yes, both the 30-day and 60-day visas can usually be extended once inside the UAE; ask us before the visa expires.
What happens if my parents overstay their visa?
A daily fine applies from the day the visa expires, so let us know straight away if travel plans change.
Do my children need their own visit visa?
Yes, every child needs their own application and passport copy, even on a family trip.
Can I sponsor my parents' visa from inside the UAE?
Yes, as a UAE resident you can sponsor the application; we'll tell you which of your documents we need.
