Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Zurich to Lucerne

    Land in Zurich, meet your driver and transfer to Lucerne. The evening is free to walk the Chapel Bridge and the old town.

  2. Day 2

    Mount Titlis

    Ride the rotating Rotair cable car to the glacier at 3,020 m, walk the Cliff Walk and see the ice cave.

  3. Day 3

    Lake Lucerne

    A morning cruise on the lake, then a free afternoon for the Lion Monument, the museums or shopping.

  4. Day 4

    Scenic train to Interlaken

    Take the Luzern-Interlaken Express over the Brünig Pass to Interlaken, check in and relax by the lakes.

  5. Day 5

    Jungfraujoch

    A full day up at 3,454 m: the Sphinx terrace, the Ice Palace and views over the Aletsch Glacier.

  6. Day 6

    Grindelwald or Bern

    Spend a free day in Grindelwald for the First Cliff Walk, or take the train to Bern, the capital.

  7. Day 7

    Departure

    Train back to Zurich airport for your flight home.

Questions about this trip

Can I add Paris or Milan?

Yes. Most travellers add two or three nights in Paris by TGV, or Milan by train over the Alps. We will price the extension for you.

Is Jungfraujoch suitable for children and older travellers?

Yes. The train goes all the way up. Some people feel the altitude at 3,454 m, so take it slowly and drink plenty of water.

When is the best time to go?

June to September for green valleys and lake cruises, December to March for snow. A few mountain trips close for maintenance in November.
